Aberdeen Bach Choir is especially keen to recruit new singers. Currently, there is no audition process - an ability to sing in tune is the minimum requirement! Anyone interested in joining the ranks of the choir should contact the Secretary, Sandra Massey- 1 Caroline Place, Aberdeen, AB25 2TH, Tel: (01224) 630536.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings (school term time) from 7:30-9:30pm, usually in the hall of St. Margaret's School for Girls - 17 Albyn Place, Aberdeen. A yearly subscription is payable to Aberdeen Bach Choir, of £46 or £23 (concessions). Students are free! Music is usually available to hire at a small charge, or to buy.
New members will be made very welcome at our first rehearsal for the 2005-6 season on Tuesday 23 August at 7:30 pm in St. Margaret's School.
Although there is no choir uniform, for concerts, men are expected to wear a dinner-suit, white shirt and black bow tie, while women are required to wear sleeved, ankle-length black dresses (with jewellery kept to a minimum).
We like to think of ourselves as a friendly choir, and if you make yourself known to one of our Committee members (Sandra Massey is likely to approach any new faces), we will ensure you are introduced to someone who sings the same part as you, to help you fit in quickly.
